Part 2 of Tower Restoration is on!
Four tower repair experts are in Guam to begin the second half of the restoration process on the ten towers at KTWR
Several factors have pushed back the start of tower restoration Part 2 a few weeks. Just as weather in California has been very wet and windy, so has the weather in Guam. The “dry” season has not started yet. Also, scheduling in the States has delayed Banner Enterprise from getting to Guam on a date closer to the normal start of dry season. God has it all timed, though. March 1st the Banner crew boarded a plane for Guam. I will only have one day with the Banner crew before they begin the complex work of corrosion mitigation on key parts at the tops and bottoms of the ten big towers. However, regular video communication has made us all ready to begin quickly upon their arrival. Thanks for your prayers for this important project!
Before the tower crew begins renewing the guy wires, shackles and turnbuckles, the KTWR staff inspected samples of the below-ground guy rod anchors, looking for rust damage that might weaken them. All inspected rods were near new condition. Praise God – good to go.
Praise and prayer
- Transmitters 6 & 7 have been very consistent in performance night after night!
- Transmitter 5’s problem with low power output, going back 5 years, is only slightly better. The best solution may be a new transmitter.
- Issues with the solar panel supplier are slowly being resolved, needs more prayer.
- The slew systems are now fully documented and working well.
- A major need at KTWR is for more people! Helpers, willing hands, technical abilities —Ask God if this might be for you!
- Nightly programs are reaching their target audiences with strong signals. Pray for China, Myanmar, Vietnam, North Korea, Japan, Mongolia, Cambodia and Indonesia that more people will tune in with open hearts.
- I will return to Guam in May through early June to help wrap up the Tower Project.
